All Star Classic

ROB VINCENT POWERS EWSHL OVER LCHL 4-1 TO NAB JIMMY KENNEDY MEMORIAL CUP.
Rob Vincent scored twice and the East West Suburban Hockey League defeated the Lancaster Centennial Hockey League 4-1
in the 3rd edition of the LCHL/EWSHL All Star Charity Classic played on Wednesday evening at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink.
The EWSHL was awarded the Jimmy Kennedy Memorial Cup presented by his widow Aggie Kennedy.
Daughter Michelle and son Mike handed out the player of the game awards . Jimmy was a passionate sports fan in the local
area and was always present in the rinks and at the ball fields often accompanied by daughter Michelle.
Glenn Theall opened the scoring at 13:17 of the 1st as he blasted a slap shot short side on LCHL tender Ryan Steele with
assists from Jason Webb and Jeff Jenkins.
In the second period Vincent scored at 16:50 with helpers from Steve Mason and Alex McQuinn and the EWSHL led 2-0 after
two periods of play.
In the third period Vincent scored an unassisted marker at the :16 second mark to put the EWSHL 3-0.
Sylvain Theriault put the LCHL on the board at 9:44 when he scored a power play marker with assists from linemates George
Oram and Pat Lyons but it wasn't enough to overcome the swift skating EWSHLers.
Daryl McKenzie scored into the empty net at 19:26 from Greg Connolly and Craig McKenzie and the EWSHL won for the third
straight year.
Vincent was named the EWSHL player of the game and Theriault earned the nod as LCHL player of the game.
Justin Mouzek, Pat Carlson and Brian Feetham guarded the EWSHL goal while Ryan Steele and Andy LeBlanc were in goal for
the LCHL.
Procceds from the game will be donated to the Centennial School Lunch Program.

2008 "ALL STAR CLASSIC'' - EWSHL Selections
The 'backbone' of the EWSHL team will be its goaltending. Justin Mousek will bring his league leading 2.13 GAA to the game. Joining Mousek
will be former SNBSHL standout Aaron Tozer who now plays with the Molson
Vito's Bruins. EWSHL's 3rd goalie will be Tozer's battery mate Brian Feetham who is currently sporting the league's 2nd best GAA at 2.83. Former EWSHL goalie of the year, Moosehead's
Pat Carlson, will serve as the alternate.
The EWSHL 2008 All Star team's defensive corps have a wealth
of Senior hockey experience. The 'D' corps will be balanced with offensive minded Geoff Cunningham
representing the Auto Barn Wheelers, Rob
Garvin of the Mooseheads, and Shane Bezeau of
the Rocky's 67's. Teaming up with this trio will be rugged rear
guards Joel Brooks of the Auto Barn Wheelers,
Bill Conway and Terry Coates of the Rocky's
67's. The alternate d-man will be annual scoring leader Jeff Jenkins of
the Kacey's Bud Lighting.
The forward group for the EWSHL All Stars is made up of a "who's
who" list of the EWSHL's top 10 in scoring. #1 and #2 in scoring in 2007, Craig and Daryl MacKenzie will represent the Molson Vito's, along with 3 time all star
Greg Connolly. Former EWSHL scoring champion Jason Webb and teammate
Andrew O'Hanley will represent the East Coast Moving team.
Former SNBSHL players Rob Vincent and Alex
McQuinn will represent the Auto Barn Wheelers. Steve Mason and former SNBSHL scoring champion Glenn Theall will represent Rocky's
67's.
Team leading Darren Langille
will suit up for the Pale Ale Mooseheads. Representing the Kacey's Bud Lightning will be
2 time all star Brian Stanley, and former Junior 'A' player Justin Finlay.
Josh Theall of the 67's is the alternate
forward for this year's team.
The EWSHL executive would like to wish all of the guys good luck! Looking
at their talent pool, it will be a very tough game against the LCHL this year. Represent us well boys and try your
best to bring home 3 in a row!
