WEEK SIXTEEN - THURSDAY EDITION
Auto Barn Wheelers 8 East
Coast Moving 3
An Auto Barn win, and Jake’s Pub loss and there’s a
deadlock for first in the East West Suburban League standings again.
The Wheelers pulled back into a tie for first with Jake’s,
although the Wheelers do have a game in hand.
The Wheelers had an easy go of it, with a 8-3 win over East Coast
Moving. It was tight after one period, 3-2 in the Wheelers favor, but they pulled away after that, scoring three unanswered
in the second, and a 2-1 edge in the third.
Scott Enright had two for the Wheelers, with a balanced attack
after that – one each from Rob Vincent, Alex McQuinn, Tom McHugh, Joel Brooks, Nick Palmer
and Jarred Fitzgerald.
East Coast had one each from Greg McLaughlin,
Donny Daley and Kirk Gilmore.
Rocky’s Moosehead’s 2 Jake’s Pub
Battalion 1
The Moosehead’s and Jakes appeared headed for a scoreless
tie – fitting given the two netminders were fresh off appearances in the all star game, the Moosehead’s Pat Carlson and Jake’s PJ Shea kept it scoreless through the
first two periods of play.
Steve Mason lit the scoreboard first, scoring for Jakes 1:12
into the third, but the Moosehead’s were quick to respond, Kyle Stratton tieing it up
less than a minute later.
Darren Langille scored the winner for the Moosehead’s with
2:44 to play.
The League takes a break from action on Super Bowl Sunday –
the first game back on Tuesday night a first place showdown between the Auto Barn and Jakes.
